Sunday: School

Sunday: School

Work on our roof has begun, so our Sunday services will now temporarily take place next door at St Richard's Church of England School.

During this time we'll be trialing a new pattern of services at 8.30am (Said Holy Communion) and 10am (new combined service). There will also be an informal Parish Breakfast every week between the services (from around 9.15am) to which all are welcome.

Throughout August and into the Autumn term, we’ll be trying out a change to our regular pattern of worship. Read on to find out more…

Trafalgar Square Beacon Event

Trafalgar Square Beacon Event

Thy Kingdom Come
Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement, which invites Christians around the world to pray during the 11 days from Ascension to Pentecost (30th May – 9th June 2019). What started out as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York in 2016 to the Church of England has grown into an international, interdenominational call to prayer for more people to know Christ. 65 different denominations in 114 countries around the world have taken part in the initiative.

This year’s events conclude on Pentecost with the Trafalgar Square Beacon Event on Sunday 9th June.

What’s planned?
Trafalgar Square will be transformed into a joyful family festival and Service. The day is packed with festivities; live performances from Matt Redman and The Kingdom Choir (made famous for last year’s memorable performance at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle). There will be something for everyone, from uplifting live music, spoken word, dance, prayer workshops and crafts – to family fun and activities to keep the kids entertained.

Festival & family fun: 12-4pm
From live music, spoken word, craft booths, and visual art to prayer workshops – there’s something for everyone. In the ‘Kids Kingdom’ there will be lots of children’s activities including storytelling, balloon artists, street performers and face painting. The food stalls open at 12 noon, so get there early for popular vendors.

Pentecost service: 4-6pm
Praise, Worship, Witness, Word and Prayer

Charles is running the London Marathon

Charles is running the London Marathon

Charles Earl is running in this weekend's London Marathon, raising money for two charities - Cancer Research UK and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Charles writes:

"I am running for these two charities as I have lost loved ones and friends from both of these illnesses. In 1982 my Dad died from MND after a three year spell of the illness. More recently my late wife Jackie died in 2015 with cancer related organ failure. I am running this marathon to raise funds for both of these charities to help with the fight for a cure."

If you can, please sponsor Charles for this run by visiting his fundraising page. Thanks for your support!
